Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee inbound operations for the terminal dock, manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel, and ensure on-time, safe loading and dispatch of freight.

You will lead a team, monitor dock performance against KPIs, coordinate labor and freight levels, and sustain a culture of excellence in service within a 50-hour workweek and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Strong leadership skills including hiring, coaching and mentoring.
• Ability to work 50 hours/week and on various shifts, including nights/weekends.
• Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound operations for designated terminal dock area.
• Manage unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Lead up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock staff to meet production schedules.
• Build loads using independent judgement based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock personnel.
• Monitor dock production and KPI attainment and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with DOT/OSHA standards.
