Job summary

Lutheran Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care and coordinate nursing activities across units in Fort Wayne, IN. The role includes assessments, planning, and collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The RN will administer medications, monitor patients, and support perioperative services; opportunities vary by shift to meet departmental needs. BCLS required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold RN licensure in Indiana or a compact state.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS and NRP preferred.
• Ability to work variable shifts to meet dept needs.
• Experience in surgery OR services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care per nursing process and policies.
• Performs thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately.
• Monitors patient status and reports changes to care team.
• Administers prescribed medications and documents administration.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency scope.
• Develops and evaluates care plans with the team.
• Responds to emergencies and participates in CPR and code events.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, care plans and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control practices and safe environment.
