Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and follow safe work practices at solar plants nationwide.

This full-time, on-site role is based on a jobsite in Coulterville, IL, with duties including basic testing, troubleshooting, and replacement of solar parts under supervision, plus occasional on-call support and up to 10% travel. A HS diploma and basic electrical/mechanical knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training is a plus.
• Ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment through training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Lock Out/Tag Out knowledge.
• Basic understanding of solar installations/plants.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification.
• Remain current in safety and technical trainings.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather.
• On-call availability (weekends or after-hours).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Stresses safety as the top priority and ensures safe practices.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance when needed.
• Operate and care for company equipment, tooling and vehicles.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond on-call to assist in emergencies.
• Prepare documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
• Suggest process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
• Support SOLV Energy diversity and inclusion initiatives.
