Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance and learn safe work practices in the solar industry. The position is full-time on a jobsite in Ramsey, IL, with details discussed during the interview process.

You will work under supervision on solar equipment across multiple plants, perform basic testing and troubleshooting, and wear safety as the top priority while contributing to efficient, reliable solar operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Mechanical/electrical environment experience through training or work.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installation/plant.
• Effective verbal and written English communication.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority and all employees follow safe practices.
• Operate and care for company equipment, tooling.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Respond on-call to assist in emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and reports of work performed.
• Collaborate with EPC management on improvements.
