Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance at job sites in Coulterville, IL. The role emphasizes safety, equipment care, and learning solar industry practices under supervision.

Responsibilities include servicing solar equipment at multiple plants, basic testing and troubleshooting, and reporting work completed. On-call availability and up to 10% travel may be required, with a strong emphasis on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in mechanical/electrical environments or training.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform Lock Out/Tag Out procedures safely.
• Basic knowledge of solar installations and testing equipment.
• Strong verbal and written English; good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and ensure all practices meet safety standards.
• Operate and care for company equipment, tools and vehicles.
• Service solar equipment at multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting and maintenance with monitoring tools.
• Replace or repair solar parts and equipment under supervision.
• Respond on-call for emergency equipment repairs as directed.
• Document work performed and complete required reports.
• Collaborate with EPC management to implement improvements.
• Travel up to 10% for training and site coverage.
