Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) to perform field maintenance on solar, storage, and high voltage substation projects. The role is full-time on a jobsite with supervision, focusing on safe work practices and basic testing, troubleshooting and component replacement.

The candidate will learn and follow safety procedures, operate company equipment, and travel up to 10% for training and site coverage. NFPA 70e safety training and English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment through training or experience.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of a solar installation/plant.
• Basic knowledge of testing equipment.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the most important function; ensure all employees follow safe practices.
• Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance for unfamiliar tasks.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting and maintenance under supervision.
• Replace or repair solar parts and/or equipment under supervision.
• Respond on-call as directed by supervisor for emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate documentation and required reports of work performed.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
• Assess and suggest improved processes; coordinate with EPC management on implementations.
• Uphold diversity and inclusion as part of SOLV Energy culture.
• Travel up to 10% for training, certifications, and site coverage.

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent)
