Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an Environmental Health & Safety leader to enforce EH&S on a Columbus construction project. You will guide project teams, lead safety training, and manage hazardous materials reports and incident prevention measures.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Safety/related field, CHST certification, OSHA 30, and strong knowledge of safety regulations, with travel as needed. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• Completed OSHA 30-hour training and current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and local EH&S regulations and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Provide safety leadership and allocate time/resources for the project.
• Develop and implement action plans to mitigate safety risks and improve awareness.
• Develop site-specific safety training for management, employees, subcontractors, and Turner Trade employees.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with all regulations and owner requirements.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and Pre-Task Plans for compliance.
• Conduct safety audits and trainings; document violations and corrective actions.
• Prepare safety reports, drive improvements, and maintain records.
