Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) leader for a single construction project. You will enforce safety programs, train teams, and manage hazardous materials reports to meet regulatory requirements and Turner standards.

You will assess risks, develop action plans, and drive improvements while coordinating with project leadership and subcontractors to ensure zero citations and safe work practices on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field plus 4 years of safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED current.
• Knowledge of Federal, State and local EH&S regulations and ability to apply them on site.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead, direct, and enforce EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Develop and implement action plans to mitigate safety risks and drive improvements.
• Create training for project teams on EH&S programs and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with project leadership to generate safety reports and metrics.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and site-specific safety plans for compliance.
• Conduct safety audits, document violations, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Lead preconstruction planning and toolbox talks; ensure OSHA standards are met.
• Maintain relationships with project staff and subcontractor Safety Representatives.
