Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead EH&S on a high-profile project. You will enforce safety policies, train project teams, and ensure regulatory compliance across environmental and hazardous materials reports.

You will collaborate with HQ EH&S and contractors, oversee risk mitigation, and develop safety and wellbeing programs while traveling to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field.
• CHST certification required or within 6 months of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; maintain First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations.
• Strong safety/environmental knowledge and incident management.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams on construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project per HQ policy.
• Build relationships with project teams to implement safety programs.
• Assess EH&S practices and identify exposures; implement mitigation plans.
• Communicate requirements to project leadership and teams.
• Lead training of EH&S policies for leaders and subcontractors.
• Review environmental surveys and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement safety, health, and wellbeing programs.
• Create reports on safety performance for meetings and stakeholders.
• Negotiate safety services contracts and on-site health resources.
• Mentor Project Safety team; support hiring and performance reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
