Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Self Perform Project Safety Manager for a Columbus project. You will partner with EH&S and project teams to enforce site compliance with safety programs, policies, and regulations, and train teams on safe work practices to protect personnel and property.

You’ll manage safety leadership, allocate time and resources, assess exposures, and drive immediate corrective actions while maintaining open communication with project leadership and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field and minimum of 4 years of related construction safety experience.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training and current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications.
• Knowledgeable of Federal, State, and local EHS regulations.
• Ability to identify safety exposures and lead corrective actions.
• Leadership, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project and enforce safety programs and policies.
• Provide safety leadership and manage project resources.
• Develop and implement action plans to mitigate risks and reduce incident rates.
• Train project teams on safe work practices and environmental health policies.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and Pre-Task Plans for compliance.
• Conduct safety audits, document violations, and recommend corrective actions.
