Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA is hiring a Patient Access Coordinator to act as a professional liaison for patients and families, and to facilitate complex scheduling through multiple computer systems. This full-time, on-site role is based at the South Lake Union campus.

Responsibilities include coordinating clinic flow, greeting patients, scheduling surveillance, lab and imaging services, triaging calls, and ensuring proper approvals in the EMR system.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• One year of customer service experience required.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
• Ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive healthcare environment.
• Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and empathy in an emotionally challenging environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the flow of the clinic by coordinating with staff to direct and monitor patient location.
• Greets and screens patients arriving for appointments and checks them in using scheduling system.
• Schedules patients’ surveillance appointments, labs, imaging, and return visits.
• Schedules same-day lab appointments as needed.
• Assembles and distributes appropriate paperwork to patients and staff.
• Triages questions from callers and forwards to appropriate staff.
• Works with patients, families, providers, and staff to identify needs and provide information.
• Communicates with providers and staff about patient needs and schedules.
