Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a Patient Care Coordinator I to serve as a professional liaison for patients and families, coordinating complex scheduling with multiple systems. You will support continuity of care and build trusted relationships with patients during their care journey.

The role offers partial on-site work at our South Lake Union Campus with remote options, 1.0 FTE, and a Monday–Friday schedule 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Word, email and data entry in Windows.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.
• Ability to work in high-pressure healthcare settings.
• Active listening and relationship-building with boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments related to treatment and referrals.
• Coordinate scheduling with departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Assist patients and families by answering questions and following up.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicate scheduling needs with providers and staff.
• Prioritize and manage scheduling requests; identify emergencies.
• Support department functions and assist with cross-coverage and projects.
• Assist with training of new staff; update provider templates.
• Triage calls from physicians, patients, and families seeking care.
