Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude and strong customer interaction.

Travel up to 30% and ability to lift heavy equipment will be expected; the position reports to the Field Service Manager within the Field Service department.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; technical/associate degree preferred.
• Experience diagnosing electrical/mechanical faults at customer sites.
• Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with packaging automation systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose faults using testing tools and technical documentation; provide on-the-job training as needed.
• Schedule and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Assist with field testing of new products and provide feedback for product improvements.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete work orders and expense reports.
