Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG in the field.

Responsibilities include installation, preventive maintenance, diagnosing issues, and providing training to customer teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical field degree preferred (mechanical/electrical/electronics/automation).
• Experience diagnosing faults at customer sites and reading technical diagrams is essential.
• Experience with packaging automation systems and strong documentation/reporting skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and minor automation-related issues using testing tools and documentation.
• Establish and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Follow field service procedures, log RMAs, complete work orders, and maintain service records.
