Job summary

Itape is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support customer production needs, and deliver high-quality technical service in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• Experience diagnosing electrical/electromechanical faults at customer sites.
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to use hand/power tools safely.
• Experience with packaging automation systems is a plus.
• Proficient in documenting service actions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose issues using testing tools and provide on-site training as needed.
• Schedule and execute PM programs to minimize downtime.
• Follow field service procedures and document all actions and expenses.
• Support senior technicians on complex field jobs and escalations.
• Travel frequently, including overnight travel, up to 30% of the week.
