Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. You will ensure uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-level technical service in the field.

The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer locations. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems and fault diagnosis.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble and reassemble components.
• Experience in packaging automation systems preferred.
• Proficient with PC applications (MS Office) for documentation and reporting.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment like multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of IPG/Better Packages products and communicate value during site visits.
• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on customer equipment.
• Diagnose issues using tools and documentation; provide training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish and execute PM programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Assist with field testing of new products and document issues for feedback.
• Follow field service procedures, issue RMAs, complete work orders, and maintain records.
