Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG in the field.

You will develop expertise on our product lines, perform installations and PMs, and contribute to field testing and service improvements.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma; associate degree preferred; field service experience considered.
• Experience with electrical/electromechanical systems and fault diagnosis at customer sites.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and automation issues using testing tools and technical docs.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance programs to ensure uptime.
• Follow field service procedures: RMAs, work orders, and service reports.
• Perform software upgrades and ensure proper configuration at customer sites.
• Support senior technicians on complex jobs and large installations.
• Travel frequently, including overnight travel, and maintain accurate service records.
