Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-level technical service in the field.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and electromechanical systems and ability to diagnose faults on-site.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble, repair, and reassemble components safely.
• Experience with packaging automation systems is a plus.
• Proficiency with PC applications for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to read diagrams, schematics, manuals, and drawings.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations.
• Ensure equipment uptime and support customer production needs.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish and execute Preventive Maintenance programs for assigned accounts.
• Document issues, report concerns, and provide feedback for product improvements.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units and related equipment as required.
• Assist Senior Technicians on complex field service jobs and large installations.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete required documentation.
