Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer sites. You will ensure equipment uptime and support production needs.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer locations.

Travel up to 30% and lifting up to 60 lbs are common; a valid driver’s license or passport is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems; able to diagnose faults on-site.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently in the field.
• Experience in packaging automation systems preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
• Able to travel up to 30% and lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance and repair of IPG equipment at customer sites.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and document service actions.
• Install and commission new equipment and provide on-the-job training.
• Schedule and execute preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Complete work orders, submit reports, and maintain service records.
• Assist with field testing of new products and prototypes.
• Travel as required to customer locations.
• Support senior technicians on complex projects.
