Job summary

IPG seeks a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime, support production needs, and deliver high-level technical service in the field.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites. Travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience with electrical/electromechanical systems and fault diagnosis at client sites.
• Mechanical skills to disassemble and repair components safely.
• Experience in packaging automation systems preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of IPG/Better Packages products and communicate value during site visits.
• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance; diagnose issues with testing tools and documentation.
• Establish and execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability.
• Assist with field testing of new products and provide feedback for improvements.
• Follow field service procedures, issue RMAs, complete work orders, and maintain records.
