Field Service Technician — Packaging Equipment

Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. You will ensure equipment uptime and support customer production needs with professional field service.

This role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong customer communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; technical Associate preferred.
• Knowledge of electrical/electromechanical systems and fault diagnosis at customer sites.
• Basic mechanical skills to disassemble/assemble safely.
• Experience in packaging automation is a plus.
• Proficient with MS Office for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to travel up to 30% and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, repair, and preventive maintenance on IPG equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and minor automation issues using tools.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Document service actions and maintain accurate records.
