Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. The role emphasizes keeping equipment uptime, supporting customer production needs, and delivering high-quality technical service in the field.

Requires hands-on mechanical/electrical aptitude, good communication, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG at customer sites.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication with customers.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations.
• Ensure equipment uptime and support customer production needs.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer maintenance teams as needed.
• Establish, schedule, and execute PM programs for assigned accounts.
• Assist with field testing of new products and prototypes; document issues and feedback.
• Follow field service procedures: RMAs, work orders, and reports.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units and related equipment.
• Support Senior Technicians on complex field service jobs and large installations.
• Handle emergency repairs, training, projects, and equipment audits.
