Job summary

IPG is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment at customer locations. The role requires hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude, strong communication with customers, and the ability to work independently while representing IPG in the field.

You will install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance, document actions, and assist in testing new products.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in a technical field preferred.
• Experience with electrical and electromechanical systems and fault diagnosis at customer sites.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot on-site.
• Experience with packaging automation is a plus.
• Proficient with PC applications for documentation and reporting.
• Strong communication and ability to explain issues to non-technical customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of IPG/Better Packages equipment.
• Install, repair, and preventive maintenance; diagnose issues using tools and docs.
• Execute preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
• Support field testing of new products and provide feedback for improvements.
• Document service actions, complete work orders, and maintain records.
• Perform software upgrades on WAT units as required.
• Travel frequently (about 30% of weeks) and assist Senior Technicians on complex jobs.
