Job summary

Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) seeks a Medical Support Assistant for the Eureka VA Outpatient Clinic. The on-site role handles front-desk scheduling, phone inquiries, CPRS chart reviews, and coordination with the Lead Scheduler to ensure timely patient communications.

The MSA will adhere to VHA directives, perform quality customer service, and support safe patient care while complying with JCAHO, OSHA, and related policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 6 months clerical experience and scheduling software familiarity.
• Must speak, understand, read, and write English fluently.
• Proficient with MS Excel/Outlook/Word and CPRS awareness.
• Ability to obtain NACI clearance and eligible to work in the U.S.
• Strong phone and computer usage, 45–60 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls for scheduling requests and manage appointments.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler to ensure timely patient communications.
• Perform front desk duties and maintain patient flow.
• Ensure schedulers represent VA positively and professionally.
• Support quality improvement and compliance with regulations.
