Job summary

Prometheus Federal Services is seeking a Medical Support Assistant to support the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. This on-site role focuses on appointment scheduling, front-desk duties, and high-quality patient communication.

The MSA will work with the scheduling team to ensure timely notifications, maintain medical terminology familiarity, and uphold VA and agency policies while delivering courteous service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• 6 months of general clerical experience and 6 months experience with scheduling software.
• Fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook and Word; familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments in accordance with directives and front desk duties.
• Answer phone calls for scheduling requests daily.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler and team to ensure timely notifications.
• Support quality improvement and maintain compliance with policies.
• Provide courteous service to patients, families, VA staff and contractors.
• Ensure patient safety and adherence to policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
