Prometheus Federal Services (PFS) is seeking a Medical Support Assistant to support scheduling and front desk duties at the Clearlake VA Outpatient Clinic. The on-site role emphasizes accurate appointment scheduling in accordance with VHA directives and strong customer service.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, clerical experience, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to communicate clearly in English; familiarity with medical terminology and security clearance requirements is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months of general clerical experience and 6 months experience with scheduling software.
• Fluent in speaking, reading, writing English.
• Typing 45–60 wpm with minimal errors.
• Heavy phone and computer use on daily basis.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and hospital terminology.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; understanding medical computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments and front desk duties per VHA directives.
• Answer calls promptly for scheduling requests and manage CPRS charts.
• Coordinate with Lead Scheduler to ensure timely patient communications.
• Ensure schedulers/receptionists present a positive, proactive demeanor.
• Support quality improvement to meet performance measures.
• Provide high-quality customer service to patients, families, VA staff, and clinicians.
