Job summary

Varmoda is seeking an intermediate-level Mainframe Operator to function as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents. This on-site role requires rapid triage, escalation and tracking of incidents while coordinating with IT staff, customers and vendors.

You will monitor infrastructure and mainframe consoles and support job control language reviews. The position may require holiday, day, afternoon, and/or midnight shifts and has no work-from-home option.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge and at least 5 years of experience with Microsoft Teams.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as WhatsUp Gold, Pingdom and PRTG.
• Ability to manage incidents quickly and coordinate cross-team responses.

Responsibilities

• Function as a Level 1 Incident Manager for critical IT incidents.
• Create, escalate, triage and track customer technology incidents.
• Collaborate with IT staff, customers and vendors to resolve issues.
• Monitor infrastructure status via monitoring systems and mainframe consoles.
• Review mainframe job control language and support deliveries.
• Work onsite and be prepared for holiday, day, afternoon and/or midnight shifts.
