Job summary

Parexel is seeking a Scientist 3 - Laboratory and Instrumentation Coordinator for a full-time, long-term assignment onsite at a client location in Rahway, NJ. You will oversee laboratory operations, ensure safety practices, and coordinate equipment maintenance and inventory across multiple labs.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in a life sciences or engineering field with 3–5 years of related experience and is proficient with common analytical techniques and instruments.

Qualifications

• Proven laboratory management experience with strong lab operations and safety practices.
• Excellent oral and written communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience troubleshooting instruments in listed analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for laboratory functions, providing guidance and support to laboratory staff.
• Collaborate with various teams to ensure smooth operations during lab stand-downs and organizational initiatives.
• Manage temperature storage facilities, including emergency protocols and scheduled clean-outs.
• Prepare mobile phase and stock solutions for platform assays, ensuring they remain stocked and within expiry date.
• Receive samples through our laboratory management system, ensuring samples are ready for testing.
• Submit work orders for lab equipment and computer calibrations; facilitate scheduling with technicians and supervise their activities.
• Schedule and follow up on preventive maintenance for laboratory equipment
• Serve as the point of contact for lab utility needs.
• Manage inventory and procurement processes of lab supply. Order and coordinate the organization of common laboratory items; review backordered items and maintain updated inventories of essential supplies.
• Assist with scheduling, escorting, and on-site supervision of equipment technicians.
