Job summary

Generac Power Systems Inc. is seeking an Systems Support Specialist II to deliver hands-on desktop, laptop, phone, and peripheral support in our Oshkosh facility.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software, coordinate with IT, and assist with server and network issues to minimize downtime. The role requires an Associate degree in CS or equivalent, 2 years of PC/Printer/Phone/network troubleshooting, and relevant certifications or ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in computer science or IT.
• 2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phones, and network issues.
• Bachelor’s degree and additional certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading laptops, desktops, phones, printers, bar code scanners and peripherals within an office and manufacturing environment.
• Support higher level specialists with local server hardware, operating systems, network infrastructure and telephony by troubleshooting incidents with customers via phone or virtual communication.
• Create documentation on issues resolved, root cause analysis and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist in implementing business systems and manufacturing initiatives with configurations and end-user desktop support.
• Perform system upgrades and assist end users with migrating to new applications and data files.
• Follow standards for reporting, monitoring, troubleshooting and sourcing issues with provided tools.
• Participate in Tier 1 call/ticket queue and maintain asset inventory of software and hardware.
• Ensure configurations comply with IT policies and security parameters.
• Consult with IT personnel to diagnose and resolve system or networking issues.
