Job summary

Generac is seeking a Systems Support Specialist II in Sussex, WI to provide complex technical support for desktops, laptops, phones, and peripherals within an office and manufacturing environment. The role interfaces with the IT department to resolve software and hardware issues and may involve remote-site support.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phones and network issues.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Preferred: MCSE, MCTS, CNA, Avaya telephony certification or ITIL certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands on support by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading laptops, desktops, phones, printers, bar code scanners and peripherals.
• Support higher level specialists with server hardware, OS, network infrastructure and telephony via troubleshooting with customers.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision, triage priorities, document issues, and escalate to reduce downtime.
• Create documentation on resolved issues, root cause analysis and troubleshooting steps.
• Assist in implementing business systems and manufacturing initiatives with end user desktop support.
• Perform system upgrades and assist users migrating to new applications.
• Follow operational standards for reporting, monitoring, and issue sourcing.
• Participate in Tier 1 call/ticket queue as necessary.
• Maintain asset inventory of software and hardware.
