Job summary

Generac is seeking an Systems Support Specialist II to provide on-site technical support for desktops, laptops, phones, and peripherals at our Belvidere, Illinois facility. You will assist with software training, troubleshooting, and coordination with IT, with some remote site work as needed.

The role requires an associate degree in CS or related experience, plus 2 years of hands-on IT troubleshooting. Bachelor’s degree and additional certifications are preferred, including MCSE, MCTS, CNA,

Qualifications

Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
2 years of experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, phone and network issues.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on support by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading laptops, desktops, phones, printers, bar code scanners and peripherals.
Support higher level specialists with server hardware, OS, network infrastructure and telephony.
Perform triage, document issues, and escalate to reduce downtime.
Create documentation on issues resolved, root cause analyses and troubleshooting steps.
Assist in implementing business systems and manufacturing initiatives.
Perform system upgrades and migrations to new applications.
Follow standards for reporting, monitoring, and escalation of issues.
Maintain asset inventory and ensure IT policy compliance.
