Job summary

TEKsystems in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking an motivated Entry-Level IT Support Technician to join our IT team. You will provide first-level technical support, troubleshoot hardware/software, set up workstations, and assist with account provisioning and onboarding.

This contract role is full onsite, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST. Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of IT support experience and strong communication, with a passion for customer service and growing in IT.

Qualifications

0-2 years of IT support, help desk, technical support, or related experience.
Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
Familiarity with Active Directory user administration.
Understanding of computer hardware, PC components, and workstation setup.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service mindset and professionalism.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, email, and network-related issues.
Build, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers.
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and peripherals.
Create, modify, and disable user accounts within Active Directory.
Reset passwords and manage user access permissions.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Outlook, email delivery, and user mailboxes.
