Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Entry-Level IT Support Technician I for Hackettstown, NJ. This contract, onsite role supports end users, troubleshoots hardware/software, and maintains workstations within a Microsoft-centric environment.

Ideal candidates have basic Windows, Active Directory, Office 365 familiarity and strong customer service skills. You will handle tickets via phone, email, and in-person interactions while growing in IT capabilities.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of IT support, help desk, technical support, or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11).
• Familiarity with Active Directory user administration.
• Understanding of computer hardware and workstation setup.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, email, and network-related issues.
• Build, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot desktop and laptop computers.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software applications, and peripherals.
• Create, modify, and disable user accounts within Active Directory.
• Reset passwords and manage user access permissions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft Outlook, email delivery, and user mailboxes.
• Respond to support requests via phone, email, ticketing system, and in-person interactions.
• Diagnose and resolve common hardware issues involving PCs, laptops, monitors, printers, docking stations, and mobile devices.
• Perform software installations, upgrades, and updates.
• Document troubleshooting steps, issue resolutions, and support activities within the ticketing system.
• Escalate complex technical issues to support staff when needed.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including equipment setup and account provisioning.
• Maintain inventory of IT assets and equipment.
• Support conference room technology, printers, and other office technology equipment.
