Job summary

Instawork is seeking an IT Generalist (Contract) to join the office-based IT team in California. You will handle enterprise systems, networks, and vendor-facing projects, reporting to the Head of IT and Security.

The role requires solid IT knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. The position emphasizes ticket-driven support, on-site IT operations, and collaboration on security initiatives, with eligibility for equity and CA-based benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 2+ years in IT solution development disciplines.
• 2+ years working with agile methods and processes.
• Security-minded and collaborative with strong communication skills.
• Experience with Google Workspace/G-Suite management.
• Experience with troubleshooting techniques (RCA) and ticket triage.
• Experience across modern OS (MacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android).
• Experience managing endpoints in an enterprise environment (MDM).
• Experience with IdP services (Google groups, Okta, MS AD).
• Experience with business SaaS apps management (collaboration tools).
• Ability to plan and juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Receive and assess IT tickets and address issues promptly.
• Assist with account management and permissions.
• Coordinate delivery/return of IT assets with vendors.
• Serve as escalation point for IT helpdesk tickets.
• Provide on-site IT support as needed.
• Support IT and security initiatives and integrations.
• Maintain updated IT documentation and change management processes.
• Collaborate with IT team and external partners on solutions.
• Maintain project trackers and dashboards.
• On-call rotation based on global time zones.
