Job summary

Via Transportation, Inc. is seeking a Field Operations Manager for its Student Transit team. The role is a hands-on, field-based leadership position focused on keeping student transportation reliable and safe in our growing market.

You will supervise daily onsite operations, guide drivers, and collaborate with school partners to optimize service. The role is fully in-person, with 4-5 days onsite per week, and offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical plans and 401K matching.

Qualifications

• Experience in people management, logistics, or process-oriented roles.
• Ability to make real-time operating decisions and manage driver supply.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with drivers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily onsite operations to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for riders.
• Make informed, real-time decisions about driver supply, compliance, student needs, and issues.
• Guide and support drivers, building trust and equipping them to serve students and families.
• Turn feedback from students and districts into tangible operational improvements.
• Use data and technology to diagnose service performance and implement efficiency improvements.
• Act as an operational bridge between schools, drivers, and Via central teams to support growth.
