Job summary

Via is seeking a Field Manager on Via’s Student Transit team to lead daily onsite operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for students and districts. This hands-on role requires in-person leadership, quick decision-making, and strong relationship-building with drivers and school partners.

You will monitor service performance through data, guide drivers, and collaborate with central teams to deliver high-quality service and scalable growth in your market.

Qualifications

• Operationally experienced with a background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Relationship oriented, earning trust from drivers, school partners/districts, and teammates.
• Hands-on and proactive, preferring field work to learn the service firsthand.
• Able to problem-solve in the moment and think long-term about mitigations.
• Mission driven and understands the value of student transportation.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily onsite operations of our service to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for riders.
• Make informed, real-time decisions about driver supply, compliance, and student needs; address issues quickly.
• Guide and support drivers, building strong relationships and ensuring they are equipped to serve students and families.
• Turn student and district feedback into tangible improvements with cross-team collaboration.
• Use data and technology to understand service performance, diagnose problems, and implement efficiency improvements.
• Act as a bridge between school partners, drivers, and Via central teams to support growth in your market.
