Job summary

Via is seeking a Field Manager for its Student Transit team in the San Jose, CA area. This on-site role supports critical student transportation and helps ensure safe, reliable access to education for communities served by Via.

You’ll run the daily onsite operations, decide on driver supply and compliance in real time, guide drivers, and turn district and student feedback into practical improvements. This hands-on position requires 4–5 days on site each week and offers a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Operationally experienced with a background in people management, logistics, customer service, or process-oriented work.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills with drivers and school partners.
• Hands-on field-based approach with proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Run the daily onsite operations of our service to provide riders with safe, reliable and accessible transportation.
• Make informed real-time decisions about driver supply, compliance, student needs, and unexpected issues.
• Guide and support drivers, building trust and ensuring high-quality service.
• Turn student and district feedback into tangible improvements and collaborate with internal teams.
• Use data and technology to understand service performance and implement efficiency improvements.
• Serve as an operational bridge between school partners, drivers, and Via central teams to support growth in your market.
