Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Services Technician - Tier I to perform onsite installations and repairs for residential customers in Missouri. You’ll install equipment, test connectivity, and ensure a seamless customer experience during service visits.

This role requires travel to service areas, working in various conditions, and on-call shifts including nights and weekends. A valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 70 lbs are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in telecommunications, networking, or field service.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (nights, weekends, holidays).
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to operate bucket truck up to 300 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including Saturdays/Sundays.
• Willingness to obtain a Class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business internet and phone services.
• Install and configure customer equipment, including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Deliver professional customer experience during service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling following all codes and standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment per safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket Fiber professionally in the field.
