Job summary

Socket Fiber is seeking a Field Technician II to perform on-site residential installations and repairs for our fiber network. You will install customer equipment, test connectivity, and ensure a high-quality customer experience during each service visit.

The role requires travel across Missouri markets, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying conditions. A strong safety focus and professional communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in telecommunications or field installation preferred.
• Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Willingness to perform on-call nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate bucket trucks.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential and business services.
• Install and configure customer equipment, routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Provide professional, friendly service and clear communication during visits.
• Diagnose connectivity issues and resolve them accurately.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling to code standards.
• Document service activities accurately and timely.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment according to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket in the field.
