Job summary

Compucom Systems, Inc. is seeking a Level I Desktop Technician to join our team in Florence, KY. The role focuses on onsite support for basic hardware and software issues across devices, with first contact via phone or email.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, managing user accounts, logging tickets, and collaborating with teams to resolve issues within SLA constraints.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent IT experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the assigned area required.
• Desktop and/or infrastructure support experience.
• Account training or certification.
• Technical writing competency.
• Cloud & SaaS services competency.
• Strong customer support orientation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses hardware, software and systems failures following established procedures.
• Performs service, repair and/or installation of computer products incl. printers, PCs, laptops, tablets, servers, and networking gear.
• Manages user accounts and permissions; performs password resets.
• Keeps notes and updates in ticketing systems for issue tracking.
• Communicates with customers at all levels of technical skill.
• Provides status updates per SLA; follows up with end users.
• Escalates complex issues to L2 techs or management when needed.
• Follows SOPs via knowledge management.
• Collaborates with colleagues across the organization.
