Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician in Madison, WI to deliver frontline IT support for hardware, software, and Microsoft 365 issues. This contract role centers on timely problem solving, strong customer service, and clear communication within a fast-paced enterprise environment.

You will assist with onboarding, device deployment, and ticket management while collaborating with the local IT team to uphold security and IT policies.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Windows 11 operating systems and desktop support concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, ServiceNow or other IT service management/ticketing platforms.
• Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other peripheral equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and Office apps.
• Document incidents, service requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in ServiceNow.
• Install, configure, deploy, and support desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and end-user hardware.
• Support onboarding, workstation setups, hardware refreshes, relocations.
• Assist with user account maintenance, password resets, and basic access requests.
• Follow IT support processes and knowledge base documentation.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams.
