Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for an onsite contract role in Greenwich, CT. You will provide hands-on desktop support, address Windows, hardware, and network issues, and assist with deployments and upgrades across local sites.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years in IT support, strong Windows knowledge, AD user management, and excellent customer service. Travel between local sites may be required and on-site/remote support is expected.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of desktop support or help desk experience.
• Strong experience with Windows environments.
• Experience managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
• Familiarity with PC hardware, software, and Office applications.
• Troubleshooting: network, IP conflicts, drive mappings, printers, peripherals.
• Onsite and remote technical support capability.
• Excellent customer service and clear communication.
• Strong ticketing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support for end users.
• Resolve Windows OS, app, and hardware issues.
• Manage user accounts and permissions via Active Directory.
• Support desktops, laptops, thin clients, and printers.
• Respond to requests by in person, phone, email, or remote tools.
• Diagnose basic network connectivity and IP conflicts.
• Configure and deploy new hardware and equipment.
• Assist with builds, deployments, and upgrades.
• Troubleshoot printers and peripherals; maintain network patches.
• Document incidents and resolutions in the ticketing system.
• Travel between local sites as needed.
