Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced IT hardware support specialist for a 6-month on-site contract in New Haven, CT. Candidates must have hands-on hardware support in Windows and Mac, knowledge of Linux if applicable, and a Bachelor’s degree in IT.

The role involves planning, deployment, and documentation across a multi‑platform IT environment. Responsibilities include coordinating with IT teams, vendors, and department moves or upgrades to minimize downtime, with emphasis on clear communication

Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in IT.
Hands-on hardware support experience required.
Supports Windows, Mac, and Linux environments as applicable.
Experience with Office 365 (O365) preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide technical planning and computer support for faculty, staff, and students in multi‑platform environments (Windows, Mac, Linux).
Coordinate service with IT professionals from other units and with vendors.
Prepare documentation to support department functions and non‑standard equipment.
Collaborate with department moves, renovations, and upgrades to minimize technology interruptions.
