Job summary

Rackspace Technology is hiring a Data Center Operations Technician on site in Richardson, TX. The role focuses on maintaining IT infrastructure and ensuring 99.999% uptime across customer environments.

You will troubleshoot hardware, OS, storage, and network issues in a high-availability data center. Requires 7+ years in DCOPS, familiarity with Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, VMware, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of data center operations experience.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs overhead.
• Experience with Windows Server, Red Hat, Ubuntu, and VMware.

Responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot complex hardware failures on x86 servers.
• Troubleshoot OS storage issues including RAID and file systems.
• Support Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu Linux, or VMware ESX.
• Perform OS administration: configs, permissions, logins, connectivity.
• Troubleshoot LAN issues and reestablish remote access to configs.
• Supervise hardware/network/storage troubleshooting and replacement.
• Coordinate onboarding and training for new DCOPS personnel.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping practices; ensure quality control.
