Job summary

Rackspace Technology in the United States (Buffalo area) is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician responsible for IT infrastructure within the data center, ensuring customer environments are secure, healthy, and have high uptime. You will work 1st shift on-site, monitor ticketing, perform OS and storage tasks, hardware upgrades, and network device installation, contributing to 99.999% uptime.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Windows Server, RHEL, or Ubuntu in data center environments.
• Basic knowledge of RAID and storage troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with network cabling and Layer 1/2 concepts.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and prioritize internal ticketing system for customer support.
• Provide OS storage troubleshooting and storage upgrades.
• Hardware support and upgrades for servers running Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu, or VMware ESXi.
• Perform OS installs via PXE and basic network configuration.
• Install and test network devices and storage hardware, including DAS/NAS.
