Job summary

Rackspace Technology is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician to own IT infrastructure within the data center and ensure customer server environments are secure, operational and highly available. The role focuses on monitoring, hardware and storage tasks, OS installs and network cabling within the Richardson, TX facility.

You will support multiple OS platforms, manage storage and RAID configurations, and resolve issues that affect service uptime.

Qualifications

• Must be a US Citizen.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a data center environment.
• Able to build, repair or upgrade hardware components.
• Strong understanding of storage RAID configurations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and prioritize an internal ticketing system to provide customer support.
• Provide hardware troubleshooting and upgrades for servers and storage devices.
• Support servers running Windows Server, RHEL, Ubuntu or VMware ESX.
• Perform OS installs, basic network config and firmware updates.
• Install or remove fiber or copper cabling; test and troubleshoot connectivity.
