Job summary

Asset Living seeks an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions of a housing community under the Community Manager.

You will manage rent collection, ensure compliance with policies, supervise onsite staff, and support leasing, maintenance, and budgeting.

The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy in records, and adherence to fair housing and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years experience in the housing industry; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Posting payments and income accurately for all applicants, current residents, and non-current residents.
• Processing and reconciling daily all accounts receivable.
• Monitor and follow up on bad debt including late notices and evictions.
• Help property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Post charges to resident accounts and bill back utilities where applicable.
• Complete end-of-month closing procedures and reporting.
• Maintain organized records and audit resident files for accuracy.
• Walk units and post move-out charges and refunds.
• Provide onsite leadership and staff development and ensure policy compliance.
• Support leasing, marketing, and resident retention initiatives.

Education
