Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions of the housing community. You will drive rent collection, oversee staff, and ensure compliance with policies and fair housing guidelines.

This onsite role requires strong leadership, budgeting, and leasing skills. You will manage payments, postings, and end-of-month closings while maintaining high resident satisfaction and retention.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years housing industry experience.
• Ability to understand and perform all onsite software functions; basic computer skills required.
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Post payments and income from applicants, residents, and others accurately and timely.
• Process and reconcile daily accounts receivable.
• Monitor and follow up on bad debt, send late notices, contact residents and guarantors, file evictions.
• Help property meet budgeted revenues, expenses, and Net Operating Income.
• Post charges to resident accounts; bill back utilities where applicable.
• Complete end-of-month closing procedures and reporting.
• Maintain accurate records; audit resident files.
• Walk units and post move-out charges, statements, and security deposits refunds.
• Attend onsite daily and consistently apply company directives to staff.
• Coach and develop onsite staff; ensure effective leadership and training.
• Promote leasing effectiveness and ensure documentation and reporting are up to date.
• Implement marketing strategies and systems per annual plan.
• Handle resident complaints and requests to ensure satisfaction.
• Develop resident retention programs.
• Show, lease, and move in prospective residents.
