Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions under the Community Manager’s supervision at a housing community.

You will manage rent collection, assist with budgeting, supervise onsite staff, coordinate leasing, and ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws and safety guidelines. This role emphasizes resident satisfaction and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or preferred Bachelor’s degree; two years experience in housing industry acceptable
• Ability to understand and perform onsite software functions; basic computer skills required
• Must have basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements

Responsibilities

• Post payments and income accurately for applicants and residents
• Process and reconcile daily accounts receivable
• Monitor bad debt, send late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions
• Help property meet budgeted revenues and NOI
• Post charges to resident and non-resident accounts and bill back utilities
• Perform end-of-month closing procedures and reporting
• Audit resident files for accuracy and maintain organized records
• Walk units, post move-out charges, and manage security deposits refunds
• Supervise onsite staff and ensure compliance with policies
• Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff
• Implement marketing strategies per annual plan and drive leasing
• Address resident complaints and implement retention programs
• Ensure high-quality customer service and timely maintenance responses
• Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate repairs
