Job summary

Asset Living is seeking an Assistant Community Manager to oversee daily operations and financial functions of an affordable housing community. You will support the Community Manager, manage rent collection, and supervise staff on site to ensure compliance with policies and fair housing guidelines.

The role requires at least 1 year of affordable housing experience, knowledge of LIHTC and HUD programs, and a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience with affordable housing programs including LIHTC, HUD, and related programs.
• Affordable Housing Accreditation (HCCP, HCP-E, COS, BOS, TCS, CPO) or similar credentials preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred or two years in housing industry.

Responsibilities

• Posting and reconciling payments and income for residents and applicants.
• Manage account receivables and assist with budgeted revenues and NOI goals.
• Process late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions when needed.
• Post charges to resident accounts and bill back utilities where applicable.
• Perform end-of-month closing procedures and maintain organized records.
• Walk properties, post move-out charges, and issue refunds of deposits.
• Screen, hire, train, coach, and develop onsite staff; supervise on-site operations.
